Mary K is a paleontologist who studies both modern and ancient marine ecosystems. She is particularly interested in the fossil record of predation, and in answering questions like “why are some snails pointier than other snails? How do animals get to look the way they look, and how does evolution shape them?” She has been teaching in higher education for approximately a decade, after receiving her PhD in 2012.
