Patricia Ferrer Beals is an experienced medical and scientific illustrations and has worked on all types of projects from drawing animals for a multi-volume animal life encyclopedia to exhibit illustrations for museums and botanical gardens. Patricia studied both art and biology at Washington University in St. Louis and received her master’s degree in Medical & Biological Illustration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Patricia is currently a full-time Lecturer at the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan, teaching various classes in drawing, visual communication and science illustration. Professionally, Patricia also spent 3 years at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum as the Interactive Media Coordinator developing science related educational programs for children. From there she went on to a working on the Education Team at the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichol’s Arboretum, as Interpretation and Exhibit Coordinator. There she specialized in graphic design, content creation, and botanical illustration for seasonal and permanent exhibits.
